Since late June 2025, relentless monsoon rains and dam releases have unleashed devastating floods across Pakistan.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority, 946 people have died in the floods so far, a toll that includes hundreds of children . Entire villages have been swept away: over 4,500 villages are now submerged and 4,4 million people affected
Rescue operations have evacuated 2,4 million residents to safer ground . The scale of this crisis is staggering
The flooding has destroyed homes and infrastructure on an enormous scale . Thousands of homes are gone or badly damaged, and roads and bridges have washed away, cutting off whole communities
Rescue teams have moved millions of people – along with 19 million livestock – to relief camps . Families now shelter under tarps or in crowded schools and mosques, without enough food or clean water
Communities face acute shortages of safe drinking water, food, shelter and medical care . Outbreaks of waterborne diseases and malaria are already surfacing, threatening especially young children
Key facts as of mid-September 2025: 946 lives lost nationwide (including 255 children) . 4,500+ villages submerged, mostly in Punjab and Sindh
