Food Security Fund
In a world riddled with staggering challenges, Human Relief Mission stands at the forefront, addressing the pressing issue of global hunger. A disheartening reality is that millions of individuals face the uncertainty of not knowing where their next meal will come from. The soaring costs of essential food staples cast a shadow across the globe, and for those in the ummah whose homes and livelihoods have been ravaged by the cruel forces of war, displacement, disease, and climate change, survival itself becomes a daily struggle.
He is not a believer who fills his stomach while his neighbour goes hungry.
Hadith | Sahih al-Bukhari
Amidst the dire circumstances around the world, the plight of children takes centre stage.
More young lives succumb to the silent agony of undernutrition each year with a staggering 45% of all deaths among children under 5 are attributed to the insidious grip of malnutrition. Donate now.
Our Food Security Programs
At Human Relief Mission, our commitment spans over 15 years of collaborative efforts with communities worldwide. Recognising the vital significance of a nourishing diet, we are dedicated to the cause of ensuring that no child or adult experiences hunger. The act of providing sustenance to a family in need holds the power to be truly transformative.
Our mission revolves around delivering sustainable, long-term food solutions to communities facing hardship. Additionally, we extend our support through short-term, lifesaving interventions in response to global emergencies, aiming to alleviate immediate food crises. Join us in this journey to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need, as we strive to create a world where families are empowered through the gift of sustenance.
When you donate food packages, hot meals or naan breads to families in need you are helping save lives. Our teams on the ground perform necessary checks to scout for eligible beneficiaries to whom aid can be given. If an individual is eligible for zakat, they automatically become eligible for our food security programs. Once a list of beneficiaries has been selected, they are added to our beneficiaries’ records so they can be listed for our many other food security programs.
Join hands with us by contributing to our food security projects, so Human Relief Mission can extend a lifeline to those facing malnutrition and hunger. Your donation will empower us to provide nourishment, a source of hope, whenever and wherever it is needed most. Together, let us forge a path towards a world where no one goes to bed hungry, and the echoes of compassion resonate louder than the cries of an empty stomach.

What does Islam teach about hunger?
In Islam, feeding the hungry is a highly-rewarded act of worship. The significance of feeding the hungry is emphasised in the following Hadith:
Free the captives, feed the hungry and pay a visit to the sick.
Hadith | Sahih al-Bukhari
The Hadith above signify the importance of never thinking about oneself, but always those that are in need and how Allah will question us about our actions and wealth.
During Ramadan, as well as other significant days in the Islamic calendar, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. This means abstaining from food, water and intimacy. By going hungry for up to 20 hours a day in some parts of the world, we are taught to have greater empathy for those in need, for whom going hungry is not a choice. Fasting also helps to teach patience, and self-restraint, and helps us to draw closer to Allah.
Can you give food as Sadaqah?
Yes, you can give food as Sadaqah in Islam, if you do so for the sake of Allah.
The above Hadith illustrates the importance in purifying your intention when giving food. If done for the right reasons, you can earn great rewards for feeding yourself and others.
As well as giving food parcels to others, you can also help to gain the rewards of Sadaqah Jariyah by contributing to sustainable food sources which can benefit families for generations.
Food Security Fund
Tragically, 828 million people go hungry each and every day in some of the world’s poorest communities. Each year brings on unprecedented hunger with many countries on the brink of famine. You can change this by feeding those in need. Donate now.
Please note: Donations made on this page will be allocated to our Food Security fund that is used to deliver a range of different food projects such as the examples showcased above. These programmes can and will be delivered in any of the countries where Human Relief Mission has a presence, and those projects are catered to the local community with the aim to save and transform lives.
