HRM’s bread distributing bakery:

As you are aware, Afghans are on the brink of starvation; according to the WHO, 1 in 3 Afghans are in poverty. HRM wants to make a difference with the help of its donors by distributing bread to poverty stricken Afghans on a day to day basis. At the same time, this allows 5 people to be employed and earn a living. To do this, HRM builds a bakery in an area that is underprivileged, such as an internally displaced persons camp.

How much does it cost to run the bakery?

The breakdown of the bakery costs are provided below.

Initial Acquisition Cost:

The cost to acquire a bakery that has the capacity to bake up to 3000 pieces of bread with two tandoors installed and get some work done to it to bring it up to HRM’s health and safety standards and purchase a tricycle to deliver the bread will cost around £5000.

When will my money be used for the bakery?

Upon receipt of funds the team on the ground will have already allocated a location for the bakery and they will start on the construction. Depending on the time of year construction will take anywhere from 4 – 8 weeks. Once the bakery is built, stock will be purchased on a month to month basis. 20 pieces of bread will be packaged per beneficiary and it will be either delivered to an area that the surveyance team deems appropriate or it will be distributed at the bakery.
