BUILD A HOME

Why should you build a house in Afghanistan?

Previous conflict and the current economic situation in Afghanistan have left millions of Afghans homeless or living in poor-quality shelters around the country. HRM’s goal is to build good homes so that we can move people into permanent homes.

A home in Afghanistan aims to hold a family of up to 10 people. Each home has two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a toilet. Although it might not seem like much, for someone who can’t shelter themselves, it will mean the world.

How much will it cost?

It costs HRM £2,500.00* to build the above house. Strong and reliable materials will be used in the construction of the home to ensure that it can tackle the harshest of winters and the warmest of summers.

How long will it take to build the home?

Depending on the time of year, it can take from 4 to 6 weeks due to extreme weather conditions.

What will happen to the house when it’s complete?

The house will belong to the beneficiary without any obligations towards HRM. Once the house is complete, it will be handed over to the beneficiary.
